The Power 250 is back for 2017 and features some of the city’s and region’s most influential and powerful people across a diverse range of fields.
The Birmingham Post Power 250 is back.
The feature again looks at the most powerful and influential people in the West Midlands from fields as diverse as health and science through to politics, business and the arts.
We also turn the spotlight on some of those campaigners and activists who do not seek out the limelight but continue to do sterling work in the community all the same.
We published our inaugural Power 250 in spring last year but a lot has changed since then.
The West Midlands now has its first directly elected mayor in Andy Street and Birmingham City Council is under new leadership in the shape of Coun Ian Ward – both of whom feature in the list.
Rob Groves of Argent and Andrew Sutherland of Miller Developments, the two men respectively leading landscape-changing developments Paradise and Arena Central, also feature.
While those at the heart of Birmingham’s cultural offering – Hippodrome chief Fiona Allan, Town Hall and Symphony Hall boss Nick Reed and conservatoire principal Julian Lloyd Webber among others – also appear.
